Fine Art Classes

Our Fine Art Drawing and Painting Program is inspired by the Classical academy system, and adapted for the contemporary young artist! This program emphasizes strengthening foundational skills and providing exposure to all types of drawing and painting that span different periods of art history from around the globe. All classes use examples from the Masters and other famous artists as a useful reference and starting point as students begin their creative journeys. As they grow and become confident in their making, students are challenged to use their imaginations, research inspirational images, and develop their own conceptual ideas in order to create more meaningful artwork. While working on their larger artworks, our professional teachers give lectures and demonstrations on art theory and techniques that bolsters students’ skill and can be applied to their own work. As students learn the unique properties and potential that each medium offers, it will hasten a even deeper love of Fine Art that will refine their paths as creative and expressive individuals for the rest of their lives.

Once understanding the particular constraints that earthenware is bound by, with enough time and patience, almost anything can be made with clay! In Cercamic Sculpture, we teach our students a wide range of hand-building techniques, such as slab building, coiling and pinching, and evolve their prior knowledge from drawing and painting to how it applies in 3-dimensional space. Whether for the purely fun and sculptural, the functional, or somewhere in between, students will unlock their imaginations with this highly versatile material.

Paper Art is the most tactile medium that emphasizes student’s cutting and construction skills.

Whether employing their engineering skills to build complex forms, or better understanding depth with 3D “Paintings” of cut colored paper, the most common of materials is unlimited in its scope and abilities and reenforces student’s understanding of composition and layout in space.
