This is a 4-week Intermediate to Advanced course for students to learn the elements and principles of art while improving their observational drawing and painting techniques. Drawing from life is a necessary skill to learn how to draw 3-Dimensional objects with accuracy. Lessons will include classical drawing techniques. Students will create drawings and paintings of compositions with still-life with flowers, still-life with fruits, geometric objects, and classical statues. Students will work with a variety of drawing media including graphite pencils, charcoal pencils, oil pastels, and acrylic paint.
Learning outcomes: Students will learn how to observe, draw, and paint different 3-Dimensional shapes. Students will learn how to notice, observe, and record (draw or paint) smaller details. Students will learn how to use different classical techniques for drawing and painting from observation including intuitive gesture, proportions, line variety, value, and color.
